A little more about Isle of Wight Fuels Ltd.
Isle of Wight Fuels owns and operates the Island’s only fuel & oil storage terminal and has been serving the Isle of Wight for 60 years providing a range of fuels, oils and lubricants to keep the Island running smoothly.
Oil and fuels arrive by sea in Isle of Wight Fuels’ oil tanker “Sarnia Liberty” where it is stored at the East Cowes terminal. The Kingston Road facility provides fuel for domestic and agricultural use, as well as supplying fuel for filling stations, commercial operations and distributors. The oils and fuels are then distributed direct to customers or other wholesale distributors.
The depot handles 1.5 million litres of fuel every week, with the capacity to store up to £2 million worth of products at any one time – which would equate to approximately 2 weeks supply for the Island based on current usage.
The Kingston Road terminal has recently installed a state of the art fuel transfer system which enables special additives to be mixed with road fuels to care for your engine and environment.
The terminal has a full pollution control system in place and works closely with the harbour authorities and emergency services to ensure systems, procedures and pollution preparedness plans are in place and well rehearsed to safeguard the environment and the local community. Isle of Wight Fuels prides itself on its safety and pollution control record.
A significant investment has been made over the last two years to upgrade the facilities to ensure the terminal is well placed to continue serving the Island for many years to come.
“We run a fleet of road tankers carrying a range of products and our drivers deliver heating oil to properties all around the Island direct to customers own storage tanks.”
David Grannum, General Manager, Isle of Wight Fuels Ltd explains:
“Our aim is to provide high quality oil and fuels and a fast efficient service to our customers on the Island and to offer competitive prices to private homes and commercial organisations alike.”
